Development Special Events Manager (PT)
Position Summary:
Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Development Special Events Manager will lead all aspects of Arlington Charities fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events to increase income from current fundraising events, research new revenue-generating opportunities, and support community events. The manager will be vital in developing and deepening relationships with donors and champions of Arlington Charities. Approximately 30 hours per week, M – Th. Off hours supporting special events and community activities will also be required.
Job Responsibilities include:

Plan and execute all necessary details for signature event (Help & Hope) by leading all aspects of event include management of volunteers and committee, event logistics, sponsorship coordination, live and silent auctions, etc.

Collaborate with the Executive Director and others to create and implement a fundraising plan.

Maintain relationships with new and existing donors and sponsors.

Serve as contact for volunteers, venue, staff, auctioneer, Bidding Software, etc.

Develop and implement event timelines and budgets.

Develop new events as appropriate.

Furnish regular progress reports.

Collaborate on development materials such as grants and case statements.

Management of event software.

Collaborate with staff responsible for data entry and gift processing.

Contributes to the development of newsletters and annual reports.

Other duties as necessary or assigned.
Candidate requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, or related field.

Minimum 2+ years’ experience in fundraising event planning.

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate information clearly (both written and oral);

Experienced with sponsorship and donor solicitation. Ability to build and maintain relationships and interact effectively with donors and community members.

Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Office and CRM applications.

Excellent understanding of best practices.

Creative approach to problem solving;

Ability to work independently, as well as a team member supporting events and initiatives.

Occasional weekends and evenings.
Salary depending on qualifications and experience. Paid holidays, two weeks paid vacation per year, and eight days paid sick leave per year. PLEASE NOTE: No health benefits provided.
